The team at Peer Power Youth will be raising money for our Big Give Christmas Challenge campaign. All donations will be going towards Peer to Professional, our employment-readiness programme. They are taking on different activities throughout the campaign week and all have a target related to the number 12 (or any of its variants such as 12, 122, 1222) to reflect the issue of unemployment and not being enrolled in education among young people who have experienced childhood trauma.
When young people start working with us, only 12% are in employment, education, or training. But, within 6 months, this figure rises to 93%.
Throughout the programme, young people participate in numerous workshops where they improve their soft skills such as public speaking and networking, increase their knowledge on areas such as financial literacy, and receive cv and interview support for job applications to support them into education, training, or employment.
- 70% reported they felt like a leader a lot of the time
- 80% reported improvement in ‘feeling optimistic about the future’
- 80% reported that others had seen a positive difference in them since they connected with us
- 83% reported improvements in their confidence, listening and speaking skills
All donations must be placed here from December 3rd midday to December 10th midday.
